One of Madrid’s classics. Once frequented by celebrities such as Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra or Ernest Hemingway during their stays in Madrid, it was one of the artists meeting points back in the 80’s. Established in 1931 by Perico Chicote, the first bartender in Spain, and projected by the architect Gutiérrez Soto in a unique emplacement in Gran Vía, it has recently had a facelift. New cocktail menu, elaborated by Chema Insausti, new gastronomic proposals and a DJ set.

But the best is that its decadent appearance has remained intact: they have not changed the wooden furniture, neither the metal chrome chairs, leather armchairs, its metal racks, mirrors and pictures of celebrities. A diamond from the 30’s where to take brunch on Sundays with live music, share creamy croquettes and tartar, or taking the first drink (or the second). Historic and authentic.
